Bulgaria has 39 mountains. Among the most visited in the country are Rila, Rodopi, Pirin, Stara planina, Strandzha and Vitosha. Here are some interesting facts:
- The highest peak in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula is in Rila (Pt. Musala - 2925 m.a.s.l.).
- Pirin National Park is included in the UNESCO list.
- Stara Planina stretches from one end of Bulgaria (the border with Serbia) to the Black Sea. Every year a hiking mountain hike is held along its entire length from Mount Kom to Cape Emine.
- The Rhodopes and Strandzha are mountains rich in many legends from ancient times, mysticism and rituals. Some of the most numerous Thracian, ancient sanctuaries and objects were discovered on their territory.

# 1 The Seven Rila Lakes
The seven Rila lakes are a lake group of glacial origin. They are located in the Northwestern Rila mountain stepwise from 2100 to 2550 m above sea level. c. Each of the lakes bears its name from the peculiarity of its shape or even depth - "The Tear" (the highest), "The Eye", "The Kidney", "The Twin", "The Shamrock", "The Fish Lake" and "The Lower lake" (the lowest).
Important: This is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the mountains in our country! The best season to admire their beauty is summer and early autumn! The area is accessible by elevator!
# 2 The Chair Lakes
The Chair Lakes are a group of seven lakes and are located in the Western Rhodopes near Trigrad. They were formed as a result of a landslide processes over the Chairska river. An interesting fact is also the origin of the name from the Turkish language - "chair" which means meadow.
