# 1 House-museum of Yordan Yovkov, Zheravna village
Yordan Yovkov is a famous Bulgarian writer. He is one of the classics of Bulgarian literature, and his books have been translated into more than 20 languages. He was born in the town of Zheravna on November 9, 1880. He taught in a number of schools in Dobruja (Northeastern Bulgaria). Participated in the Balkan and Inter-Allied Wars. The house-museum in the village of Zheravna was his home and he spent the first 13 years of his life there. One of his most famous works, the collection "Old Mountain Legends", was inspired precisely by folk beliefs and legends from Zheravna. The interior of the home with the writer's belongings, carpets and rugs in the Revival style, as well as the spacious courtyard where there is his monument, make an exceptional impression.
